South Africa - I'm not sure if I mentioned it on here, but before we were originally supposed to go to Zimbabwe and South Africa last fall instead of Spain and Morocco. Our trip was amazing, but I'm still dying to go on safari and see the amazing scenery. The vineyards around Cape Town don't sound too bad either :)
Italy and Croatia - Sure, Italy's on everyone's hot spot list. I'm sure I don't have to tell you about the culture or the food or the sights. But Croatia may not be on your radar - it has a stunning Mediterranean coastline said to rival Italy and Greece, and is much less touristy than other places in Europe. Not to mention that I'm part Croatian and would love the chance to explore my roots.
Southeast Asia - This trip has been in talks since about 2009 when my brother first lived in South Korea. He moved back there last summer with his new wifey, and this time I have to make it out to visit him. While we're on basically the other side of the world, I'd also love to hit China and then head further south to check out the beaches in Vietnam and Thailand and maybe float down the Nam Song in Laos.
Where are you dreaming of visiting? Are any of my top picks on your dream list?

It's always better to start planning (and saving!) early. Sounds like you will have a blast no matter which place you choose
ReplyDeleteMy friend got married earlier this year and they did a Mediterranean cruise and went to Italy, Greece, and Turkey. They said Turkey was their favorite by far and if they did it again they would use a different method of travel (many of the other cruise travelers were much older). I also have another set of friends getting married later this summer and they are going to Paris and Rome.
ReplyDeleteI went to Greece in college and it was WONDERFUL. Visiting Croatia sounds amazing.

Italy was #3 on my list all my life. #1 was America, #2 was England. Crossed 1&2 off, so my next dream is Europe, including Italy. one day, one day.
ReplyDeletemy husband and I thought about going to the beach, but to be honest we aren't super beachy people (strange considering where i'm from, i like the beach i just get bored after a couple days)- we're do stuff people! so we went to vegas, which isnt everyone's cup of tea, but there is so much to do there! i love it. we dont gamble or drink, and we had an amazing time. i couldn't leave the country at the time, so it had to be somewhere in the US and I have been there 3 times now and love it.
rambling. haha.
So exciting!! I love all these options. We are getting married in November but waiting until the following summer to go on a honeymoon (we are both teachers), and so far we've been thinking about low key relaxing trips like the Caribbean too. But you've just reminded me that this might be a perfect time to go to South Korea, something my fiance has always wanted to do since he was adopted from there.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've got some incredible ideas lined up! I'm personally dying to go to Thailand or India or Morocco. Those are my bucket list spots right now!
ReplyDeleteAll three sound amazing. I've heard such great things about Thailand. Also a safari in Africa would be soo cool too (and a once in a lifetime experience!).

Oh my gee shark cages might be a leeeeeettle too adventurous for me!! Although I don't know why that seems scarier than being in an open backed jeep driving through lion country...
ReplyDeleteOh for real, a safari would be freaking amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh so you're a girl who's looking for some madness then? Morocco definitely has it! I would want to try India, but there's something in just about all Indian food that doesn't agree with me so I might not make it :)
ReplyDeleteOh that would be awesome, especially if you get the whole summer off!!
ReplyDeleteI know, such a struggle to pick just one!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I looooove Vegas too! You're reminding me that I need to go back :) Did you go to a lot of shows and see the sights while you were there?
ReplyDeleteOooo I've been wanting to go to Turkey and Greece too. So many choices!!
ReplyDeleteOh for reals, we have a separate bank account set up for saving for it right now.
ReplyDeleteoh yes, definitely. i have been 3 times so the first time was the drunk, party, see all the strip sights, and then we went to the canyon and what not. the 2nd time was with my mum, so lots of shopping and shows. honeymoon was a combination. relaxing, a few drinks by the pool, shopping and we went to a show pretty much every night, so fun! we were in bed by like 11pm each night haha.
