Shirt - Ann Taylor / Blazer - JCrew / Jeans - Gap / Boots - Tahari (similar) / Necklace - Baublebar / Watch - Kate Spade
I don't know how I went so long without this closet staple. This is the first white button down I've owned since maybe middle school, when we were required to wear them for our orchestra concerts (I played violin), and because of that they always felt very "uniform-y" to me. How wrong I was. I've been loving how versatile this shirt is, and have been wearing it with my blazer, layered, and with skirts and pants.
Do you own a white button button down? How do you wear it?

Love this look for work- I'm stealing it! Now I just need a new pair of brown riding boots, since mine from last year are donezo
ReplyDeleteI felt the exact same way! White shirts meant orchestra uniform and I wanted nothing to do with them. You look amazing in this outfit, I love those boots!

I agree with all of this! (I even played the violin haha) The only difference is that I bought my first white button down a few years ago for an interview.... but I always forget I own it! Once in a blue moon I pull it down from it's hanger and love it for a week again.... and then forget again.
ReplyDeleteIt surprisingly took me a while to get a basic white button down, too! I love how you styled it here!
ReplyDeleteWhite button downs are a staple for my work wear!

Well hello professional lady! Having gone to school my whole life, I totally hear you on the "uniform-y" vibe of white shirts. I clearly need to get over it though after seeing this look. Fantastic!

Thanks Alyssa! All of the magazines in the world could tell me it was a closet staple and I just didn't listen.
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely becoming a staple for me too!
ReplyDeleteJust do it, you'll never look back ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Elissa!
ReplyDeleteGet on it girl!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kaitlin! It's funny how school can turn you against some things. I, for one, am never reading any Dickens, no matter how good a writer he may be.
ReplyDeleteOh no no, that one would definitely not fit any more!
ReplyDeleteSimple and classy love it! Just found your blog! Def got a fan here :)
