This Weekend...
This weekend I...
...Met up with a friend for brunch at Corridor, and oh my gee the breakfast pizza! It's basically just regular pizza with an egg on top, and as someone who frequently eats pizza for breakfast I appreciated that it has somehow become socially acceptable. Give me cheese or give me more cheese.
...Went to a friend's baby shower, which was a tea party at The Drake. I'd never been to the hotel before and was excited to check it out, because people, it is Fancy with a capital F. I was a little apprehensive about the whole tea party thing because I don't usually like tea, but it turns out that oolong (with all of the sugar cubes that would fit) is kind of my jam! Plus instead of just cucumber sandwiches they also fed us mini lobster rolls, and who can say no to that?!
...Had a couple of my college roommates and their boos over for dinner at our place, which means there was lots of giggling and lots of wine (and luckily also lots of cheese).
..."Accidentally" wandered into J.Crew the day after their big sale ended and really wanted this dress, but since it wasn't on sale I left it in the store for later, only to come home and buy an almost identical dress from Banana Republic online that was on sale - fingers crossed it fits!
...Had a girls morning out getting mani-pedis at ME:U, which is seriously the best nail salon I've been to in Chicago. It was so cute, everyone was really friendly, and they did a great job. It also definitely helped that they bought our group a bottle of wine (even if drinking a glass of red wine at 10 in the morning is a little odd ;) After nails we went for brunch + bottomless mimosas at Revolucion where I somehow managed to order breakfast that came with a side of the best french fries ever - additional cheese for the win. Are you sensing a theme here?
I feel like I need another weekend to recover from my weekend now ;) I hope you had a good one!
