I'm not one to say you "need" things lightly. Okay, well, yes, you got me, it turns out I am. But really, you probably need this tee. I have the short sleeve version, which is no longer available, but the exact same tee is available in a long sleeve version. Which I now want - is it weird to have the same tee in long and short sleeve?
But really though. The peplum is super flattering. The tee is really soft and comfy, and the perfect amount of drape-y (is that a word?) without being too baggy. I love the alternating stripes and the little bit of a ruffle, it gives just enough visual detail to look great under a jacket or sweater - so much more fun than a basic v-neck!
I'm currently in outfit planning mode for the conference I'm going to next week (all business casual, all the time), and while this tee isn't making the cut for any of the presentations I have to give, it's probably going to be what I wear on the plane, along with these jeans. Or should I say jeggings? Because they may or may not have an elastic waistband - insert an embarassed face emoji here. They're so cute though and you really would never would know if I didn't tell you, plus they're so comfortable! When I travel for work, especially when I know I'll see coworkers and potentially clients in the airport and on the plane, I don't want to wear my usual sloppy leggings and a tee. This lets me look pulled together while still feeling like I'm in my pajamas.
Speaking of outfit planning mode, I had my annual freakout over not owning any business-y clothes and ordered just about everything from Nordstrom on Monday, and I freaking love Nordstrom because almost everything has already been delivered (and I didn't even pay for rush shipping!). Of course, almost everything is going back because it turns out I don't actually need anything besides a new pair of dress pants (which I scored from Old Navy over the weekend). But I am keeping these flats - I put them on and was amazed by how comfortable they are! I got them in black suede, which is so cute. I don't usually go for suede because I'm freaked out about ruining it in Chicago's mostly terrible weather, but I thought these would be a nice difference from all of the leather flats in my closet.
As I mentioned on Tuesday, I've been super busy prepping for the conference next week - I'm hoping to get some posts scheduled for next week but I'm guessing that isn't going to happen. If not, you can follow along to see what I'm up to on Instagram!
